Jumbo peking with bowed legs

Corn may pack the weight on which isn't a good thing for a Jumbo Pekin so go easy on it.

Okay i will also keep that in mind i think ill try meal worms or maybe the peas again its just going to be difficult keeping the others eating out of their own bowl lol. Also i ordered one of the b complex from that link you sent me thank you again! Unfourtunatly. I could only find it in stock online so it should be here in the next couple of days ill just keep giving him the nutri drench until then. I went with the "aspen pet vita-jec b complex fortified". That link that you sent was super helpful and informative as well. Thank you guys both so so much. I tried doing my own research (ie. Brewers yeast, nutri drench, lots of pool time) but i suppose i should have come straight to the professionals in the first place lol. Bless yall and all of yours 💕💕💕💕💕 ill be sure to update you via this thread of how he does!!

You can try separating the ones that need it so that they can get their full

Its just this one but i try do that! Its just when we first got him (when he was seperated in a cage next to the coop) , he wouldnt eat any of the scrambled eggs or tomatoes or anything i put in his cage unless they were all out and he saw the others eating it as well. Maybe it was just from being depressed?! From seeing all the other ducks and not being able to hang out with them? I just wanted to make sure everybody was safe though!

You def did the right thing and now he is part of the flock. And has a forever home :love

Yes maam!! And we just picked up a muscovy today (i think girl) to hopefull be his cute goth gf (if they all get along). My boyfriend saw her in a 55+ neighborhood on his mail route a guy was trying to shoo her away so he talked to the guy and told him wed be back to try to pick her up after he got off (the guy said she's been hanging out at his house for about a 3 days or so and was becoming a bit of a nuisance to him and his neighbor) although im just now finding out that muscovys are just freindly ducks in general so i suppose it wasnt as much of a rescue as i initially thought it was lol im still hoping she will be a good match for him though! Do you think he will be too big for her? And also do you think hell even be able to mate with her (if he wants to) or do you think his legs will keep from that happening? They are in pretty bad shape. Ill send a video tomorrow morning when i let them all out!

Jumbo pekins are kindof the cornish crosses of the duck world, they're not meant to live long lives.. but good luck!
If he doesn't improve soon though, it'd be time to think what'd be better, a life of misery unable to walk, or a swift and merciful end.

I have Muscovy and they make wonderful pets. Some like to eat them too. But I could never eat mine they are just too precious. My Muscovy drakes weights around 12lbs so probably not too far off of a Jumbo Pekin and his female Muscovy are anywhere from 4-5lb each they are tough ladies. lol
So sweet of you to take her in and give her a home.
I'd clip one of her wings to keep her home though. That maybe why she was hanging around at a person's home who didn't know her she could have been someone's pet and she flew, they do love to fly and can get lost easily that is how they end up in lakes ponds and other bodies of water. I only clip one wing on my girls each fall after their big molt. I can give you a diagram on how to do it if you want.
Most will say Muscovy need their own kind to be happy but I have one females Muscovy who I gave Runner /Buff eggs to back in 2016 and since she hatched those ducklings she has been part of their flock. I guess she must be able to communicate pretty well to be with them this long.
Any questions just ask. Many of us have Muscovy and love to talk about them. And of course the other breed we have too. :)

It could be he just doesn't know how to be a pet duck. He hasn't been taken care of and he's not used to treats or foods. Ducks are always leery of new things.
As far as treats go all ducks should be limited to 1 tablespoon per day whether corn, tomatoes, mealworms, or a mixture. It all adds up to 1 tbls or they might not eat their regular feed.

Yes muscovies are also large birds, but they're wild as is, so their frames/ legs/ wings can handle their size easily.
