I am excited to say that I have built breeder coops and will be looking into purchasing some breeds to breed! I have never actually had breeding pens; just a rooster or two.
Very, very excited.
Now I have a few questions. I want to purchase a trio or quad of OEGB's at the show coming up in our area soon, but I already have three OEGB hens. I'd like to add them to the mix, but I have two Crele's, and one Self blue. If I purchase a rooster/trio of one color and add my hens, will I get certain colors? Or will the varieties be un-recognized by the ABA? I like surprises, so I would hope that I can put together a pen of OEGB's and get lots of the parent's colors. Am I making sense? I tend not to do so on the internet.
Thanks for any input! I'm excited to hatch my own bird's eggs soon!

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
