Have had Hermione and both babies eating out of my hand now (Whilst sitting in it!), but she still hasn't taken them outside yet.
Surely she will today???!!!

I candled last night and the 3 eggs that I was unsure about went bad after all so I tossed them. I'm excited to see that the other 15 are doing good and was amazed to see movement. I guess begging the eggs to hatch won't help but I'm going to be a nervous wreck the next 10 days.

Ok I have 25 chicks They are black and blue Ameraucanas and Welsummers but from one of the Ameraucana eggs I have a yellow chick. Odd. got 5 more pips. Two Ameraucana eggs with no pips and 3 Welsummers with nothing.

in the brooder...7 total, my crazy almost week long hatch. I'm glad it's over.. we had really bad storms here
my basement flooded and I had a hatcher, incubator and 2 brooders down there. I went down and
the brooders were floating like boats with chicks in them. Had to unplug lights wading thru water to get
those chicks out.

I'm happy with my fat little orphingtons.

:lol:What a great thread you guys had here im so upset i missed it!! We live in scotland just found this sight today as we are new to the chicken world, we moved from the south of england Brighton a busy costal area to a quiet village in Scotland next to a farm and have started our small holding with chickens and we LOVE them!!
People say its addictive and it really is how funny, we have our first eggs in incubation and they are due tomorrow and we can hardly wait the last day has be painfully slow and i have had too stop my husband from checking them every fuew mins, and to learn the art of patience lol!! Anyhow i have loved reading your posts they were great and only wish i had found this before now xxx

Welcome and good luck on your hatch. I too have a hard time staying out the bator during lock down. I had to take the kids fishing just to get my mind off it.
