June 2021 Hatch - A - Long

Pics
My first-time broody is still doing great, almost halfway through her incubation at day 10. I candled this morning and saw movement in 3 of her 5 eggs. I still have questions about the Lavender Orpington and Black Australorp eggs; they have very dark shells. I’ll check again on Thursday morning and see where we stand. So far, so good!

18 babies in the brooder one in the incy still drying up. Ones pipped but there was blood so I dont know if it pipped into a vein or the others were trying to help. No other pips yet.

Awww, poor thing 🙁. Are the eggs clear or quitters? Clears shouldn’t be an issue if she sits on them for 10 more days, but I would pull out any quitters for sure. You can give her golf balls too, she will probably tuck them right in! We only had 1 of 5 hatch last summer so we got her 4 TSC chicks the next day and she immediately adopted them
They are all clear, so I suppose I will just let them be!

One of 2 hatched, still waiting on the other egg. from a dark welsummer egg/BO dad.

It was due today the 13th, at 5 am it had a pip, by 7am it was hatched.
The 2nd egg is a dark spotted maran egg.

Below are the eggs I got from Health food store fridges. (But local farms)They are due at the end of the month. Except the 2 dark brown ones in the middle due in about 5 days.

The eggs are in a little giant-don't buy- but if you do, don't over load the turner....
