June 2025 hatch-a-long

I am getting shipped eggs sometime around May 29th/30th that I will be putting in the incubator after they rest for a day or so! I can't wait! I have them coming from 3 different places. I will have BCM (VERY dark eggs too!), Lemon Owlbeard and Jubilee orpingtons! I can't wait. I would have LOVED to hatch them earlier but I will be away the end of the month and didn't want my chicken sitter to have to worry about babies in a brooder and I couldn't get them early enough that they wouldn't have to worry about that. So instead now I just have to count down FOREVER!!!!!!! But hoping hatch day will be around June 21-22. :)

Hey junior67!

I'll join :) I have muscovi eggs due around june 10th, does that count? :p

I have 10 under a broody (her first time) and 9 more in an incubator.

5 of the incubator eggs show veins, others might be infertile.

No veins under broody, despite putting them in 5 days earlier, but she could have set later, development could be slower. Only one was obviously not viable; I've removed it.

I'm giving them all a few more days before i remove any more.

Of course it counts!

Ducklings are just the CUTEST!!!!!! fingers crossed more under the broody start developing. but congrats on the babies on the way!

I am DYING to be able to candle and see babies again! LOL feels like FOREVER until I can but thankfully I have a vacation before it so that should help pass the time waiting.

I'm joining in! I'm doing a 3 hour round trip next weekend to pick up some black and blue copper Marans cockerels and eggs. Eggs are Birchen and black copper Marans plus some olive eggs. I may also add more mystery chicken eggs, my neighbours son works on a chicken farm and they sell eggs for consumption although they aren't commercial egg layers, apparently the chickens are used for meat, so either I'm hatching some dual purpose breeds/crosses or I'll end up with some cornish cross broilers
