I tossed the other two eggs.

I had 4 hatch. I assisted the first one. It was completely ready but just laid there after and didn't really try to push out. Wasn't sure if just tired or something wrong. Looked before work and all were sitting there so was happy. Got home from work so had more time to watch and that one just keeps falling over on its back. Doesn't look like spraddle legs so not sure what is wrong.

I have 1 BCM "pipped".... There is a small hole in the egg.

Woke up to the one that was pipped half way zipped. Watched for a while and no movement. Not sure what happened but think it died while zipping. I have never had that happen before. And as of now I don't see any other pips.

When Ioved the Orpington to the brooder and could look closer I noticed one leg was a bit more to the side and it would stretch it out and topple over. The other foot the toes would curl but not curled all the time. So I have it hobbled and a shoe on to hopefully fix it quick.

oh boy these hatches are just not working out for me. So the electric company changed out our meter today which meant the power was cut while they did it (I did NOT know they were doing it) and my incubators did not turn back on so I came home from work to cold eggs......... No new pips so I don't even know if any of the other BCM were even alive at that point but if they were thinking they did not survive since nothing has happened at all since and think Fri afternoon was the start of day 21 and no other pips or anything seen. not sure how long I should give them before I peek. so may have spent a large amount of $ for 4 chicks.. was hoping for at least 8 after the BCM hatched (was hoping for a LOT more before all of this since I started with 34 eggs. this is I think the WORST hatch I have had since my very first one that I got eggs from ebay from a terrible seller and they weren't even what they said they were with the 2 that hatched from that group

the other eggs I just got were on day 3 today as well and not sure those survived the time it was out. UGH!!!!!

None of my eggs hatched I'm 80% sure it was fertility problem (but I haven't cracked any open yet), we knew the rooster as "the lazy rooster" but I would never have expected him to be THAT lazy, man was locked up with those ladies for 2 months for crying out loud. So, my hatch was a fail

I will definitely be trying to incubate again in the future but rn the pen I used to separate my Wyandottes is being used as a grow out pen, so I can't really separate anything unless I build another pen. I have considered ordering some chicks, though, because there's a couple breeds I'd love to breed or just have more of, like D'uccles.

That power outage is really too bad, Junior - Come home to cold eggs? My heart breaks just at the idea.

Maybe a few will make it, even if the odds are slim...

Swan lives on my desk for now, splay legs in treatment, she's standing more confidently. But her tail is at an odd angle, she seems to tire easily, her navel isn't fully healed. I expect a failure to thrive any time.

And Belana is no longer broody, she hasn't accepted the new duckling. The chicken think she's food (they didn't touch her, but i can tell). If Swan makes it to adulthood, she better not be a boy cause she's fully imprinted on me...

None of the BCM made it. I eggtopsied them yesterday and it didn't look like any internally pipped so maybe gone before outage?? But I was right there was 5. The new eggs I put in I have 3 EE/cochins/Owlbeard mixes, the full Owlbeard never started....
