June 6th Merrimack NH Chicken Swap !

We ended up coming to the swap after all and had much fun. (I was the fat woman in tie-dye trying to keep up with a small boy with Down Syndrome, or rather mostly making DH do it.) DS fell in love with the Golden Comets, so we bought one of those and an Easter Egger pullet. Was the EE from one of you all? I wanted to ask the seller how old she is, but I couldn't find her.

I had fun petting the rabbits, even if DH wouldn't let me get one. And anyway, I did promise him I wouldn't add rabbits to the mix until I learned to knit.

The blue cochin crosses someone was selling were gorgeous. If I dared risk straight run I would have bought a few.

Might be. The EE I bought was definitely the smallest and most nervous bird in the cage. She's still a bit nervous, but she's let me pick her up once or twice.

P.S. Oh, and David named his Golden Comet "Chick." I asked him what he wanted to name his chicken, and he said "Chick." I asked him whether he mean that she's a chick, not a chicken or if Chick was supposed to be her name, and he said "Chick name," and so it is.

A father-daughter pair with a couple of cages full of Golden Comets on the left-hand end of their aisle. I think the mom might have been across the aisle selling stuff that wasn't chickens.

Or at least the cages had been full-full when we first saw them. When we came back to buy, they were almost empty, but the daughter had saved out the tamest one for David (which I very much appreciate).

here is my merrimack find! actually found it in milford, but didnt buy it in time before the lady left, so i answered every craigslist ad and found her. got to pick her up in milford and here she is
