JUNE EGG SWAP . . . . New Idea for the Summer - Please read post #76!

Yup, I have a fan it it. I started with 1 60W bulb and the guts from a styrobator and a 6 in desk fan on the bottom blowing down. It didn't warm enough. I put a 100 W and still didn't heat enough. I then added an extra 100 W and there was a 5 degree drop to each shelf. I moved the fan to the top blowing down and it was cooler by the window. I covered the window and all was good for 2 days. Then the eggs went in and all heck broke loose.
Another problem is it is 2 inches too wide to get in the house so it is in the garage and it got hot yesterday. I need to figure out how to wire the lights into the thermostat.

Can the fan blow across the eggs or is that a no no?

ETA: I think I will put a board across the top shelf and move the bottom light up so its a heat chamber.

Thanks,
Jim

Forget I mentioned the zones. I'll try to match people up by the state and group people in a tri-state area. For example . . . I'm in South Carolina so I would match myself up with somebody in SC, NC or VA and maybe GA.

I don't think that is an actual postal zone. It differs from where the start location is on shipping rates. Like I can ship somthing within Missouri for pretty cheap- but if I sent it to PA it is more--unless i do flat rates.

I don't think that the fan blowing across the eggs would hurt them. I'll show your design to Randy and see if he has any suggestions. The shelving might be a problem. To me, it looks like they might be obstructing a good even air flow. He can help with figuring out your wiring also.

There is a 4 in opening all the way down the back. The shelves are a 2x4 frame covered in 1/4 inch hardware cloth so it is pretty much an open design. I think I lose th most heat through the window in front.
Thanks for the help
Jim

Mine has a full 3/4" plexiglass door. How thick is the window and what is it? Glass? Plexiglass?

Also, the incubator is in the garage? Is there any air flow into the garage? Mine bators are on a enclosed porch and the present time and I was worried that the temps would spike during the hot part of the day but so far they're fine. I have a shade tree covered window that seems to push cool air thru the room.

The window is just plain glass, maybe 1/4 inch. I wonder if I cover that and put in a smaller bulb with the 100 watt bulb. I'll try to get more and better pictures of it.
