Ok you two! I promise you that someday when you candle a good comparison of fertile & unfertile eggs at about Day 10 or so, you'll just get it. When you don't have a good fertile egg then Day 10 will not show dark nontranlucent mass. I felt the same way about it all, until one day it was so easy to see with my hoky old flashlight in a dark closet. As I got better & better flashlights, I then saw more & more. Now I'm at the point where I don't candle as many times & don't need or even want to see everything going on in there, just want to keep those eggs in the bator & disturbed as little as possible. Keep trying on those 3 special days & you'll get it. Best wishes to all of you "Future Master Candlers of America"!
