here's some threads one has a good pic. Most are referring to them as boots instead of snowshoes but mine look more like snowshoes. I'm gonna revise his tomorrow. I was in a hurry to leave for work so what he has on aren't the neatest most attractive. But I think from these posts you can get a really good idea of what they look like
Hope they get it straightened out right away. It would be amazing if they were to develop after all that traveling.
I should wait for the new thread
but...
Stopped adding eggs to the incubator when I reached 24 on this newest batch.
I set three each from: Nutmeg = dark brown eggs, she's probably a D'Anver mutt: brown/gold quail & muffed, looked like a little hawk as a pullet Kyan = splash hen with muff (whitest eggs in our coop) Cookie = EE, no muff, quail, our oldest hen (blue eggs) Bingo = Black daughter of Cookie, no muff (not as pure blue eggs) Licorice = Cookie's other black daughter, no muff (again, not as pure blue eggs) Hay Lin = blue hen, looks more like Andalusian than the other blue breeds, gorgeous eyes, slate legs (lt brn eggs) Pepper = just like Hay Lin only lighter blue, same lovely eyes
Then 1 egg from each of our other 3 hens to bring the total to 2 dozen.
Hi guys! I set 18 BBS Orp and 6 Americauna eggs on the 5th of June and this is my FIRST HATCH... I'm sooo Excited! but I've been really good about just watching and only added water twice as needed so hopefully I'm not messing them up
And I really want to join this topic if it's okay because I have a few ? this being my first hatch and all
Hey guys, I got my broody squared away today. It seems my faverolles roo has not been doing his job very well til lately. Anyway I candled all the eggs she had. I tried to pull all the eggs from the BO pullet and leave only pure fave eggs. But only two of the fave eggs were fertile and weren't very far along. One of the BO eggs looked like about two weeks along. So in the end I marked the eggs and gave her bak the 3 that were fertile including the BO egg. What I think will happen is the orp egg will hatch soon and she may not keep sitting long enough to hatch the faverolles eggs. I guess we'll see. I'm pretty excited.
And welcome Britechicken. Good luck with your hatch!
