So the little chickie is still the only one. I felt so bad leaving it in the incubator I remember some people would give them a stuffed animal or feather duster. I don't have a stuffed animal I'd be okay putting in the brooder with it and don't have a feather duster so I looked up videos on how to make towel animals!

Made a big duck lol then scooped some of the shavings away and put the duck in the brooder so there is like a little cave. The chickie really loves it!

That's adorable!

Found the one that pipped internally before I went to bed because they then made the tiniest external pip. Got up a little bit ago and checked on it to see not much progress. I tapped on the incubator and saw movement through the hole so I let it be. Will wait more and keep an eye on it.

This is the tiny external pip last night. Happened sometime between 11pm and 1am.

Not a lot of progress, but it's still early. It's my only egg with DK on it left. The other one was a bullet shaped egg that stopped growing around day 7.

The hens and roos have been locked inside the coop for about 3 days and when I went to collect the eggs for the first time since they were in the coop and I noticed a broody sitting on a ton of eggs! And here we thought I was only going to hatch SSHxEE and d'Uccle eggs.... it never works that way with chicken people, though!

I candled the eggs and only two had veins so I put them back under her.

So excited for everyone!!!!

I believe #8 has finally begun to zip. Its been working really hard all morning and only a minute ago made a bigger hole.

#11 has pipped externally. Happened about 30 minutes ago.

#3 pipped externally either after 2am or after 6am or possibly after 8:30am. I didn't notice in until after 8:30am and because it's just a line, not a hole I might have missed it before bed and when I checked on them after 6am.

Rocking coming from #13, #15, #10, and a tiny bit from #14.

#s 9, 17, 19, 12, 1, and 4 have no movement.

For some reason I am slightly worried for 17 and 19. I don't think it's because they're my smallest eggs, but something just doesn't sit right with me about them. They're white shells so I can use my phone light on the outside of the incubator and can see they've both filled the egg and they have big air sacs. #19's air sac goes halfway up one side of the egg.

My gut has been right about a lot of things during the incubation and with the broody hen so I feel like my worry may not just be first time hatching mama worry.

Edit to add picture of #19. Tried to get #17 but the flashlight wasn't strong enough. I used some filters to better see the air sac. But the contrast between where the air sac is and the chick is very obvious to my eyes. Very dark.

One of the eggs under my broody biel was piped last night.... I have not been out yet this morn
I know better than to get excited.... I went out this morn and no chick no shell. Sigh the only thing I can figure is she ate it. Grrrr I took the last 2 eggs away don't see any movement but I plan on checking tonight in the dark to be sure.
