Once internally pipped, the air cells look huge. Sounds normal to me. Expect external pip 12-24 hours after internal pip, and 12-24 hours til they start to zip after external pip!

Oh I really hope so!!! I'm just on edge after the one shrink wrap and the bleed out.

The 4th chick has hatched! Three more externally pipped eggs to go!

Oh ans what do yall think? It's been so hot in the house that the heat lamp makes it a bit too warm for them so I put a board over part of it to give them a little bit cooler area if they want it. They were all laying alone and like they were hot. But after I put the board up they all snuggled up here lol.

The green thing is another cave dealm the duck one doesn't want to sit right anymore. They do enjoy it from time to time.

Oh and the box is long and the light was causing even the other side to get too warm and I can't move it up anymore. The board doesn't cover the whole box, just a little over a foot of it so the other side is still getting light.

Day 21/Day 14 Candling -
24 Duck eggs looking great, had 1 quitter.
2 Faverolles & 1 silkie Quitter, but still have 11 Faverolles & 26 Silkies going.

Pleased with the Shipped silkie eggs. 12/18 are still going, even after Canada post tried to scramble them. All but 1 aircell has stabilized. I had 100% fertility, but 6 were clearly too damaged to continue developing.

Ugh!! I am so mad! There has been nothing from 5 of the eggs so I super quick candled them since the house is a lot warmer and humid right now.

At least 4 of them look like they could very well be shrink wrapped. No idea how this happened as the humidity had been really good in the incubator.

What sucks even worse is two of then are two of the eggs that were under the hen and had under developed air sacs. They were still at that day 17 size and suddenly, today they're huge.

One still appeared to be okay *fingers crossed* if it hatched then I'll have 8 chicks altogether. Four have external pips 3 have hatched, and then the 1 that hasn't rocked but I could see moving and the air sac looked normal.

Eight out of 22 eggs. I've had the humidity up between 65 and 70% since Saturday morning when they went into lockdown. The air sacs were fine, then.

Aw I'm praying they make it.

Yesterday was lockdown for a d'Uccle egg and today is for another d'Uccle eggs so we should be seeing chicks very soon!

I got my 'brooder' ready (huge fish aquarium found at the side of the road, has housed many chicks) but I can't find the darn heat lamp! We JUST sorted the shed and no one knows where they put it so I'm stumped.

Well, my OEGB is down to 6 eggs. I was candling one last night and it broke in my hand. From the scent I think it was already gone. Or, maybe, that is just wishful thinking.

My picture is the nesting box. I put her nesting box in my “chicken playpen” that I moved into the coop. Once they are all hatched I’m going to trade out the nesting box for a cardboard box I can lay on the side with bedding.

My coop is crammed! I’m gonna have to do some thinking on how to make it work. I already have a dog kennel with my 9 week old pullets in there.
