So close!!!Woooooo!!!! I checked a couple eggs that seemed pretty active last night and they’re trying to pip!!! I can see them pushing on the membrane in the air cell! I think I’ll lockdown at nap time today instead of tonight!

Is that your BCM baby? So sweet!!!View attachment 1821706 Little bugger pipped last night at 11:30, and I was woken up at 5:30 with loud peeping. 2 of the 3 other eggs are pipped too!
Glad that some of your babies hatched! Were these shipped eggs?
Is that your BCM baby? So sweet!!!congratulations!!!!
Oh I’m so excited for you! At this point, I’ll be grateful if I get one from the 12 shipped eggs!Yes it is!!
GL! I’m insane! I skipped a siblings trip in Denver to be here and hover over my broodies...Yes and I'm mainly glad to have several pyncheons as they are so hard to find. Hoping I have 1 boy and 2 girls!
The little d'Anvers is one of the sweetest most laid back chicks I've ever known. When I got home from work yesterday I checked the mama and the baby was gone! I searched the whole coop and moved on to the run, looking for a body. Then I noticed the other mama had an extra chick lol. I'm glad she didn't attack the poor thing and was happy to babysit. I guess the baby got bored waiting with her mama for her hatch mates to come out. I shook my finger at her and put her back in the nest. Babies can be so oblivious to the dangers of the world.
Today I am doing Scuba training so I can't even be home too keep an eye on things. Sigh. I just have to hope for the best and try not to think about it for 6 more hours!
I free range my chickens and chicks. I'm out there when I let the chicks and ducks free range, but the chickens are out from daylight til dust. Door is always open. I have lost a few to a fox but I have 3 dogs that do a good job at keeping them safe. Some times I catch the dogs sleeping in the coop with the chickens.Sorry to hear that you lost a bird! I don’t know how anyone free ranges without a dog or electric fencing... We’ve lost multiple chickens/ducks/guineas even when we were home. The guineas seem to mostly hold their own at least...
