June Hatch A Long

Haaaahahaha

I HAVE PIPS!!!! I’ve got at least 4 trying to internally pip and at least 1 that HAS! Halfway through lockdown Preps I heard them. So I said screw it and I’ll do more notes next time... stopped weighing and just got them in place.

Here we go!!!!
Yeah! GL with your hatch!!!:fl

Wow, big air cell! This is a duckling? What percent loss is that? Cool that you are keeping such careful notes!
Yes, that’s the biggest air cell of all of them because it was so saddled, but it’s definitely drawn down the loss is at a good number. It’s a shipped egg that had the WORST saddled cell. You can see the original drawing barely in the light. That’s day ONE.

I can’t keep track I was late on a lot of them as far as visual appearance... I was freaking about the size but realizing weights were right on and then with several pipping internally, it’s clear a lot are drawing down already.

We will see what happens.

Ha! Sounds like an unexpected cold front for us at this time of year! The weather forecasters would be all over how bizarrely cold it is!:gig Which it’s not. We are continuing on with a wetter weather pattern than usual.

:lau We're also having a pretty wet year. I've only had to water my garden once or twice. We need it after a relatively mild winter. I'm enjoying that at night it still drops into the high 50's low 60's at night.

I will follow along:) I set 7 Trader Joe's fertile eggs on Wednesday, so day four I will be having a July 10 hatch if all goes as planned. First time incubator here so I am learning as I go.

How exciting! I've heard of hatching Trader Joe's eggs before but I've never tried it myself! I look forward to your updates!

I've heard of hatching Trader Joe's eggs
There is a old thread on here about it, I am all alone over there now so will update here as I go. The eggs were 5 days old when I got them according to the Julian date on carton, I let them come to room temp 24 hours and put them in the incubator. I did crack one and saw the bullseye. I am hoping to get at least two or three pullets out of the 7 eggs. Will know more tomorrow when I candle, hopefully all 7 are developing.
