June Hatch A Long

There is a old thread on here about it, I am all alone over there now so will update as I go. The eggs were 5 days old when I got them according to the Julian date on carton, I let them come to room temp 24 hours and put them in the incubator. I did crack one and saw the bullseye. I am hoping to get at least two or three pullets out of the 7 eggs. Will know more tomorrow when I candle, hopefully all 7 are developing.

It’s sad when interesting threads die off. Can’t wait for your updates!

A few pictures of the fluffed up chicks! :love I'm in love!!

My little Frosted Legbar with what looks to be 2 cockerel Cream Legbars, lol. I should have known they would all be roosters when I hatch them for myself! :lau I'm happy as long as my little Frosted is a pullet and if it's 50/50 I would hope my chances are pretty good. :fl The last Legbar is still in the incubator.

The trio of True Blues! This is exactly what my Whiting's True Blue hen looked like last year so it will be interesting to see what coloring these three develop! :wee

The first five fluffed up Mottled Orpingtons!! Is it just me or do those black dots under their eyes make them look like gangsters? :lau

What breed will they be?

Yes, I’ve recently been on two threads that I’m interested in but appear to be dead: the CCL x thread, and one on in ovo vaccination.

I randomly had a naturally occurring chocolate Marans chick hatch from a black copper marans flock and i actually had mediocre success bringing a thread back to life from years ago. It's literally the only one I've come across on chocolate Marans but most were intentionally breeding for it.

Your chicks are adorable!!!!

There’s no WAY it’s three cockerels. That frosted is FOR SURE a pullet. ;)

I know! They're so fluffy!! Still waiting on a couple of my assists and my mug chick to finish up but I did finally get Mottled chick #6 into the brooder with the others! :jumpy So far so good but for the life of me I can't find the beak on one of the malpositioned chicks and the blood vessels have barely even started to be absorbed so I don't feel good about fishing around in there. I may have to raise a few of these special babies inside if they don't seem prepared for the broody life.

@CluckNDoodle i didn’t see the black spots until I blew it up! :drool:eek::th

They don't all have the dots but the one on the right totally looks like a gangster teardrop to me. :lau
