She gave me this beautiful little Exchequer Leghorn pullet while I was there too because she didn't have any hatching eggs available for me. I just love her!! :love

Oh my gosh!!!!! I covet exchequer leghorns sooooooooooooooooooo much.

Are you doing one incubator or do you move to a hatcher? If all in one, as hard as it is to wait, I would set them all together, especially if they are super fresh. If they were nearing a week already I’d say otherwise maybe.

Hi! :frow
I'll start June off with a bang with chicks day 21 the 1st, and muscovy ducklings day 35 on the 2nd. Exited about the chicks, they're from a friends' mix breed flock, and hoping to get some gorgeous looking birds. I've only hatched chicks for sale so far this year, and these are ALL MINE! :D
Then there's pheasants the week after and 4 pure breed orpington eggs the week after that. Poor incubator been running non-stop since january...

I'm using a few incubators but I don't plan on moving them to a hatcher so I think I'm with you on this one. :thumbsup It's better that I wait because I want these two breeds in separate incubators so I can easily tell them apart at hatch too. So I would end up with two Incubators with staggered hatch dates and I don't love that idea. Waiting it is! Lol, At least I won't be home to give in to wanting to set them.

Yay! You'll have chick updates to hold me over until mine hatch! Lol
I think Orpingtons will always have my heart! What colors are you hatching?
I'm seriously putting my Incubators to the test this year myself. I'm on hatch number 7 this year I think, lol.

I have not read everything, but just saw this and I'm joining in. I've got a broody chicken sitting on duck eggs right now. It's our first hatch. We're about one week in.

Busy busy!! I thought it would love orpingtons based on what I've read about them, and my lemon girl is wonderful. While she doesn't love being held she is tolerant of it and by far my calmest girl.
