Sorry been a long day or two!!!Congratulations! How do you like hatching in the cartons... I’m considering it, pros and cons?
I can take a photo of what I did (and I staggered eggs every other) once I’m done or when I’m certain an incubator is done. I’m on day 22 on one so I haven’t given up but I’m not holding my breath...Great question! Did you cut holes in the bottom of your cartons, Doubletree?
Soooo i shipped my eggsWell, even though I almost never candle other than day 17, curiosity got the better of me again with these shipped eggs and I candled them again last night. Today is day 21, and they look more like day 15 embryos. Is it common for shipped eggs to be delayed? Rather worried here. Some did move, at least.

I did cut a hole and went off a photo I found via google
I like it because the chicks also seem to curl up in an egg hole to rest once they’ve hatched and look so much more comfyYes, please! I’m thinking I might try it for a hatch. I had a heck of a time with my Marans eggs too, they are just so hard to candle. And that one pip and zip I had that got turned upside down and hatched out with the yolk sack unabsorbed? I’m thinking maybe if it hadn’t been turned down it wouldn’t have started to zip so early. Watching the chicks play soccer with the still hatching eggs just stresses me out every time! Under mom there wouldn’t be so much space for the eggs to roll and be damaged.
Is it normal for the egg to bleed one drop? Also, baby flip flopped and now his toe is where his head should be.
