June Hatch A Long

Omg. Cluckndoodle did I just realize you probably have a golden doodle? Or some sort of doodle? Pics!!!

My friend just bred her golden doodles and I've been looking on lovingly but no, I had old Dobermans that have both passed now and they just can't be replaced. I'm sticking to chickens, for now. The "Doodle" is because I draw a lot, well I doodle. lol!
My Doberman used to graze and eat the scraps I threw out with the chickens. lol! She just can't be topped!
Surprisingly I have yet to draw a chicken. lol, I mostly do people but this is one of my friend's weenie dog.

Cleaned up a little and added some oil. Definitely seeing some blood vessels further back in the shell but seem to be gone around the beak. I'll give it a little bit.
I’m seeing both dried membrane and membrane with blood vessels further down... you have an incubator or humid, warm place that you can keep ducky for awhile while it absorbs all of that? Looks like the bill is exposed so breathing shouldn’t be an issue?

If you see blood vessels then just keep waiting. The membrane does look quite dry though so every so often reapply the coconut oil.

She's BEAUTIFUL! :love I miss my Dobies! My girl was older and already trained by the time I got chickens. She was always glued to my side, the epitome of a velcro dog and wouldn't hurt a fly. She actually chased and caught a bird once and was so surprised that it was actually under her foot that she jumped back from it. lol! It was just the game of chase that she enjoyed and she knew better than to try it with the chickens!

That drawing is FABULOUS!!! I know what you mean about your Dobie. I had a dog pass this last year that while ABSOLUTELY not trained and a total spoiled brat, became incredibly special needs for the last six years of his life and when he passed it left a hole like I haven’t ever experienced. My identity was wrapped up with him as my companion.

That’s actually around the time I realllllly got into chickens. They’re a beautiful and perfect distraction when needed ... and when not. ;)

It's amazing the hole they leave behind. I lost my best girl 3 years ago this fall and I still miss her. The two we have now can't compare. She was the first dog I got as an adult and we had to let her go within days of being diagnosed with lung cancer. My daughter grew up with her and still misses her.

And that is exactly why I'm trying so hard to stick to chickens! I can love them and be sad when they pass but somehow it still never seems to hit me as hard as the loss of a furry friend. So feathered friends for the win!

And thank you for the compliment jolenesdad! It was a challenging drawing because the pup has a damaged blue eye and a really dark eye, so only using graphite pencils it seemed to look odd but my friend cried when she saw it and said it looked just like her dog so I take that as a good thing! My husband is the real artist, I'm just a doodler. ;) My nearly 13 year old daughter has surpassed me in skill too. No glory for me in this family! :lau
This is a painting my Husband did for me. It's about 32"x20". I never stood a chance. lol!

Wow, that’s beautiful too! Your daughter is so fortunate to come from a family of talented artists!
