June Hatch A Long

REALLY cool experiment
Thing is at least one is developing, I just do not want to hatch out one chick all alone.. I am hoping I get a few more to develop. I am on day 7, giving it to day 10 and if no others are showing signs of life I am going to pull the plug.

I am a very rare ask for help person- it’s gotta be pretty concerning if I do ask- so this incubator thing is apparently not my style as I’ve had to ask for help multiple times. I’d just hate to be the killer of baby chicks. I’m in la county so am under quarantine no birds or eggs in or out and so many birds have been killed by cdfa and usda I just don’t want to add to the numbers. I paint portraits of birds for those that lose their flocks so the bird deaths not a new thing- but me maybe killing ones I put in the machine is a totally different story. It’s day 19 but I don’t hear any peeping yet - but I have a list of chick names being voted on in facebook

This stupid machine wont let you adjust humidity- it was a gift so this is my first time trying it out. It seems to be 80 or 27

Do you have a sponge that you could use instead of the water reservoir or possibly some of those decorative glass rocks that you could put in the reservoir to reduce the surface area of the water? You may need to get creative but in this case, because your humidity has been quite high throughout incubation a little low is better than too high.
I'm sorry if you've already answered this question but I get people mixed up sometimes, what incubator are you using? Maybe we can find some tips and tricks that others have used for the same model?

We have ALL had to ask questions at some point! That's how we learn!
I'm so sorry about the quarantine. :( That's terrible! :hugs
You might not hear any peeps until the night before hatch day or hatch day itself. You won't be able to hear the peeps until the chick has actually pipped internally and starts to take it's first real breaths and learns to use its lungs.

Here’s the incubator- I’ll look around for something to put in there h at 77 t 99.3 currently

Oh I youtubed the heck out of it. all the videos that talk about humidity don't really talk about it except to say its set by the factory. most of the info are from preteen boys from the UK. which is OK if I actually got the info I wanted.
