June Hatch A Long

Today's tally so far, from the 21 eggs that were in the big incubator, 4 have hatched. Have 6 more in my small incubator, From the broody I got three, so out of the 34 over all total set, I've gotten 7, still plenty more eggs to go..lol.
Yeah! They’re coming right along!!!

@Mixed flock enthusiast , I'm guessing by your name you have a mixed flock.. I refer to mine as mutts. I'm not sure what they are, the closest I get to a "breed" are sex links. lol, and they come mixed already. Sitting here listening to the chirping of 4 babies announcing to the world they are here. Trying to start them drinking and eating. I know once I get one or two doing it, I won't have to worry about the others, monkey see, monkey do.

Hi Starri, we have both Oklahoma barnyard mutts and pure breeds. Our own breeding has been barnyard mixes or cross breeds, just for our own flock. We have tried to focus on breeding hardy birds with traits we like, especially Marek’s resistance and egg color. Here’s a pic of a real mix of chick colors - I love how diverse this hatch came out! There are some birds that I find just gorgeous! Honestly though, I came up with my username because we have a mixed flock of chickens, ducks, and guineas!

Congratulations on you new chicks! So exciting to meet them and watch them get to know their world! Are you in for a long night waiting on the rest? Any pics?:love

That’s absolutely fascinating.

How far along are the turkey eggs and how long do they take?

The Turkey eggs are on day 15 and due to hatch 7/12, they take 28 days, and I have 7 eggs.
The Peacock eggs are on day 13 and due to hatch 7/13-7/15, they take 28-30 days, and I have 4 eggs.
100% are fertilized and developing well so far! :fl
You can go ahead and take them off your list. They probably make more sense in the July hatch-a-long if you were trying to keep track.

No I was just curious!!! I cannot wait to see them!!!

@Mixed flock enthusiast , love them, sounds like you have your hands full, the second picture, the little red one looks almost rumpless, what breed is that? Didn't wait up to see more hatch, went to bed and woke up to another, that gives me 6 out of 21 so far.
The red chick is a reddish Easter Egger roo over a crested cream legbar hen. She has a tail coming in so it’s just a weird angle.

For your hatch: keep on coming babies!!
