June Hatch A Long

Ive been having alot of trouble with my hatch, the barnvelder that was broody hatched 2 more tdy, and she somehow klled them both, so i took the last 3 eggs and put them under my broody wyandotte, but that was a big move, so im just hopin they can survive that!
So sorry to hear that you lost some of the chicks! Did she already have some chicks and more hatched?

Oh yeah!!! I’m so excited that you set up another live cam!:love Your live feed hatches are so addictive - you should be charging for them!!!

I like to have other people watching too I am going to do a Facebook cam as well to video it when they start coming out so that my niece can see. Her internet stinks but she likes to watch the new babies being born.

That’s so awesome that you are willing to share your amazing video feed!

With this batch I am a little concerned about the air cells so decided to keep the eggs upright to keep the air cell from moving on the eggs that are a bit scrambled and making it harder for them to hatch. Hoping it helps with hatching.

And we are officially locking down day 18 starts at 8:08 pm tonight but I have to leave for work at 5 am tomorrow morning so tucking the kids in early. Egg cartons are thin plastic from the organic eggs I had last and have holes cut in the bottom so they can get enough air flow all the way around. Candled last night and out of 14 eggs I had one DIS looks like right shortly after I candled the last time so may have already been gone. 13 eggs moving and grooving around so into lock down they go. Fingers crossed we get babies. These are all shipped eggs from Lone Oaks Orps. Very nice looking adults eggs medium sized and very easy to candle.

Live cam is set up and you can watch at

Whoo hoo!! Another live cam experience! :celebrate:pop

I have had ones in the past that want to sit on eggs but have no clue what to do when the little aliens hatch out of them. I tend to not let those ladies hatch anymore or just allow them to sit for the first two weeks and then put them under a new momma for lockdown. I had one orp that would always take care of babies could be duck, chicken kitten she didn't care.

Yea, that would be nice if i had a bird like that orp!

She hatched pair of CCLBs, and was really really rough and mean with them, so I moved them to another momma. They are now in the brooder, along with a LO that hatched under that same momma.
