June Hatch A Long

@LilyD I think people are watching your hatch avidly now as its the last one from the june hatch along :)
I would personally like to thank everyone for their help and support with the shipped araucanas, its nice to have people to talk to that have the same interest.
Most people look at you like your weird when you tell them your hobby is keeping and raising chickens :lau

I’m so sorry you had a disappointing hatch. Do you have a way to get any friends for them?
No I’m in a quarantine county. And if I got one out of the county and brought it in that’s breaking the quarantine too. I’d rat myself out by posting adorable chick
Pictures and I don’t wNt to be a part of the problem and risk having the dudes in white suits show up and cull my flock

It’s weird that they were all too big for their shells and couldn’t move head to pip. Opened all the eggs only 1 was not full term and there were 3 black and 3 white splash- 1 of which hatched w help. My friend aka the chicken guru was so much help to me and analyzed all the unhatched photos and said there wasn’t anything I could do. I heard zero peeping to tapping. I think incubating too stressful for me! However my singleton rides around in a little Joey bag on my neck and is a good eater drinker and runner! Lots of good photos as it’s a-supermodel
chick.

Hatch going great so far!!! Where are these orpingtons from? Those really pale speckled are orpingtons too??? I imagine with a blue egger they would make some TO DIE FOR blue speckled eggs....
They came from Lone Oak Farms out of Missouri. I got a dozen of his Crele English Orpingtons and a dozen of what he is advertising as Lone Oak Creles which look more like a red cuckoo or barred lemon or red. It is two toned but very muted colors and all shades of reds and lemon color no blacks or dark browns. We'll see how they look as they grow. So far I have a pretty even showing from each. 7 of each made it to lock down and currently I have 3 of the Lone Oak Creles and 4 of the English Creles. Out of the eggs in the incubator one more hatched last night so we are up to 7 and the next one is working hard at it.

They are really pretty! What part of MO is the breeder in?
Crane, Missouri

He was very nice and we chatted for quite a while after I got the eggs. The Lone Oak Crele are his project birds and they are much lighter than the standard Creles. More of a lemony color than a red but he said locally the people who buy eggs or chicks are very impressed with the Lone Oak Creles and are choosing them over the standard English Creles. I definitely love the coloring but was very impressed when he told me that his roosters grow out to be 11-14 lbs and hens 8-11 lbs. Since I'm looking to start a dual purpose breeding project for eggs and for meat this works great for my purposes.

@LilyD just the 5 eggs left to hatch now right?! :ya

6 eggs pretty sure the one on the left all the way is a dud I saw no movement. The others are questionable. They look well developed but not sure if what I was taking for movement might have been fluid or baby moving. No Pips in 4 of them. Two are still pipped. One was pipped last night externally but hasn't made any progress. The other was internally pipped so I added a safety hole last night and will assist if it hasn't made progress by the time I get home at 7:30 tonight. Stinks that I can't be home to help them today but technically they are still on day 21 until 8:08 pm tonight so we will see how they do. We have a new photo bomber. Number 7 is very active now and will need to move to the brooder/incubator next door with his or her hatch mates.

I plan on candling the other 4 eggs again when I get home as well to see if any have developed. They could be late quitters or could still be taking their sweet time lol. I figure I can assist as needed in the evening and then give time in between to make sure that yolk is absorbed and the veins are gone.
