Bahaha. This isn’t the first time I’ve had eggs hatching when I’m at work, at least. It’s nerve wracking but I’ve done it before so it’s not as bad this time. And my quail eggs came so anytime I get egg anxiety I can look at those.
I'd be a complete mess! Er, um... I mean...sending you lots of support and wishes for a super speedy afternoon!![]()
My feral cat is now an inside cat. A vet caught him and did everything for him but couldn’t find someone who would bond with him. He was mean to every person who met him... except me. He catches crickets and mice that are in the house. He’s a very good hunter, he’s not allowed in the spare bedroom either because I’m sure he’d hunt the chicks. When I was trying to figure out where to put the incubator I had to take cats into account (we have four inside kitties.) I would have liked to have put it into our "Pub" (den), but it's a common area and I knew very well that as a warm place it would end up with a cat on it at some point, so it was relegated to the spare bedroom. Zeke doesn't understand why he's not allowed in there as that's also his safe space from thunderstorms. Now he can hear the cheeping and goes banging on the door wanting in to investigate. I can imagine how that would go! Zeke is "the cat who walks by himself," who at one point leapt about five feet straight up to capture a cardinal. That little escapade earned him a "promotion" to inside cat.
I imagine that blue would be a recessive trait so would probably depend on if the sire had any blue genetics in his background. It's an interesting question. I'll have to look into the genetics of egg color.Anyone know if a chick hatched from a blue egg... is their a chance it will lay blue eggs?
