June Hatch-A-Long

My Belgian d’uccle and Swedish hedemora eggs have arrived! I’ll candle them once I get home and see what kind of monstrosity-looking air cells I’ll be dealing with. Lol. Fingers crossed the hedemora eggs are alright. Those suckers were expensive. Lol.
I love hedemoras!! I’d love to have some one day.

Where abouts are you in Canada? I'd love to add Swedish Hedemoras to the flock next year, but don't know anyone on the east coast who has them :)
These came from Breezy Bird Farms in Manitoba, I’m in NW Ontario. 2 day shipping on them so it’s a little hairy for them on the trip. :) I’m not sure about hatcheries much closer to you, but the other hatchery, DC Heritage Poultry, I ordered from also has them, they’re in Quebec so a little closer to you than Manitoba! :D

So all eggs look great, only a couple very slight saddled air cells, none detached! And I got a freebie egg added in, a jungle fowl! :D I definitely would recommend this farm for sure. I may have to place another order once my other bator is free.... bahaha.
Who was it through

Decided that I did not like how my sapphire gem/lavender orpington cross chicks were feathering out - I got 2 lavender color (the color that I wanted...but are both looking like cockerels), 1 kind of steel grey color, and 3 black ones. I have 2 friends that are interested in some chickens that are not picky about what they get, so I think I might sell the gem/orpington crosses. So.....I just ordered some English Lavender Orpington eggs so that I can get chickens the color I wanted.

Good to know about this. I’m in Ontario also and was just looking at breezy birds, and at the same breed you got! Lol. I ended up ordering lavender Orpington and pure Ameraucana eggs from a guy on kijiji for my next hatch.....but it’s good to hear a good review on breezy birds. I will be following how your hatch goes along if you post!

Good to know that that they came packaged well from Breezy Bird Farms. I won't be ordering from DC Heritage any time soon as I know a little too much about their history and how they run things. Breezy Bird would probably be my only option for the Hedemoras right now :)
