June Hatch a Long

Mine are in LD early, couple days ago cuz I got irratated with shipped eggs. This AM I had a pip. Now I am at 3 pips. 2 BSL and 1 BR (Hope for a roo, LOL I sound like the odd ball on the forums, hoping for roos:lau .) no others as of last check. Will be gone most of tomorrow so maybe I'll come home to ALOT of babies. Or just a few shipped/breeder chicks. Hopefully I get what I need so I can forget getting eggs elsewhere. I have 25 BR pullets in coop. Only barred males I have are BSL. SO not able to make a pure line YET. But one day.......
. You ain't the only one acre , I always hope for two outta each breed I hatch some times it goes the other way but I have been lucky and always get at least what I need I don't have the options to just get more eggs or source a roo somewhere lol it's always a 3 month wait to do a rewind I'm pretty much smoked with this one light Sussex from the last trip I hope at least it's a hen and I can use her for some rsl over my hamp roo because I can guaranty it's the only one in the country so as the LS is wheaton type and carries a strong silver gene that's about all I can do with one

. Can u see a beak ? If u can it's getting air it will most likely go polak
I am going to check before I turn in tonight. I can see the membrane under the pieces of broken shell but did not focus on seeing the beak. I will check that. I tried to post some pics but BYC says I don't have permission. Must be from posting those ones of me in my Speedo a while back. Any one know how to get authorization to post pics?

PIP! I'm so EGGcited! I know that this little one isn't out of the woods yet, but for my first hatch, and my only egg that made it to day 21 (today) I am very happy.

YAY!!! Come on baby!

Just put 7 eggs into lockdown!

Good luck!

Soo today is my day 7 on my shipped very wanted eggs. I candle them and only four out of the 18 have veins in them. the air cell still moving but they have veins. I am so sad cause its so little and anything can go wrong with them... Im not touching till day 14 to see the progress.

I left them all in there just in case they start getting veins.

I know its just hope.

Woke up to the calls shortly after midnight! Since this was the only egg that made it to day 21 (total hatch process hatched almost perfectly at 22 days!) I am now trying to find a chick or two that I can pick up locally to keep it company.

This is my first hatch, how does the shell look?

A clear means it was not fertilized, or possibly died the very first day. If you crack it open it will look like an egg from the store... Just whites and yellow yolk, no veins, etc. Blood rings, on the other hand, mean an early death. Veins started to develop and have broken down. 13 clears sounds like a fertility issue, not an incubation issue. As for the 4 quitters, it happens. 4 out of 27 eggs (not counting the infertile ones) doesn't sound too bad to me, but others with more experience might chime in.

How about air? No drafts, but nice fresh air needed! Are your vents clean/clear? I don't have a cabinet, so not sure how the air gets in, but worth a look! Just another thought. Can't imagine how disheartening that would be.
Yes the cabinet has 4 fans. One by each tray. It has auto controls on humidity and temp.

I just hatched 6 new babies today.
One beautiful blue silkie. 3 bannies and 2 beautiful polish!
Yea!
I left them in there. I will take them out in am

Update on Rosie.

She is doing great with only one wing. She didnt lay an egg today but that is ok. I am going to take bandage off tomorrow and spray more vetercyn on her wher her wing use to be. I am hoping I can put her back with the girls by Monday. I am going to keep her in medic room for a few more days.

Alibabe-I hatch with the same incubator. In my past two successful hatches, I took it off the turner on day 18, and also removed all the dividers so the eggs were laying on their sides. From what I understand, (and I could be totally wrong, I am very new at this), by doing that on day 18 (lockdown day), it allows the chicks to get into position to pip. I also put a layer of paper towels on the bottom to absorb any liquid from the hatching. Once everyone has hatched, I toss the old one and put a new one in until I move them to the brooder. Every one of my eggs pipped on the top of the egg. The only issues I have had is when the chicks come out and start staggering around, they sometimes roll the eggs over on their pips. I have intervened and rolled them back. I also remove the shells once the chicks are out to give them more room to move around. Good luck!

Thanks Sully, I will do the same when lockdown comes.
