Yes the silkies have feathers but a different kind of feathers compared to other birds. Silkies are more like feather dusters. Lol.

Got another quitter, down to 3 eggs. One pipped during the night! I might have a baby when I get home!

omGG you just reminded me that my eggs are due on the 20 th when do i take turner off and add water for humidity.

I put them in on the 30th of may afternoon. when would i have to do what.

suddenly i got lost and nurveous.

I lock mine down the end of day 18.
Turn off and remove turner
We have a styrofoam incubator, we place paper towels or you can use the rubbery contact paper on the bottom for ease of clean up.
Place eggs on their side of the bator....Some place eggs in a cut down egg carton with wholes placed in the bottom of each egg compartment (tried this second time.)
Kick humidity up between 65-70%

Looks like we've got our first duck hatchling- there is an empty, obviously zipped shell about a foot away from momma duck this morning.

yea I'm sweating it out feel a lil better today yesterday was a killer Brahma eggs are in lockdown and have a few rollers I thought they should be a day late but I think they will go on time I hope I'm able get them out I ran them as dry as possible to get the air cells as big as possible these guys are big ! Full shell peeps ! We will see how it goes Oh well back to bed for me happy hatching gang tnx jac
