June Hatch a Long

I wish I could. I've been hoping someone would be on that had some advice for you. Incubators can have warmer and cooler spots, but I can't see 19 days vs 23+. Not based on experience here at all, but if I were in that situation and could see them moving I think I'd move forward with making an initial pip for them...
Hoping someone else comes along soon to advise.

Should I pip it internally as well as externally ?

I don't think anything can be done at this point.....dropping humidity when they are trying to hatch is a giant no-no.

That doesn't mean you won't get chicks.....try not to stress, and just wait it out. (I know, that is WAY easier to say than do)
That's kinda what I figured. Since they are with the broody I don't have a lot of control at this point. She has been great. Let's me grab eggs out from under her. She just fluffs her feathers and sort of purrs (probably growling LOL) but no attacks yet. I will stress more after they hatch.

Okay, I just copied some info to help you decide what to do. Maybe you've already read it, but it's worth backtracking to review and make a decision based on the right info not an emotional desire to help. It's hard when all you want to do is make sure they're okay. I'll post the part I copied and also the link so you can read the whole thing. Here's the link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching

And here's the particular stage I think you're at: but I recommend reading or rereading it before doing anything... plus I think you'll need to use the link to see photos as to what to look for.

If the majority of your chicks have hatched or its past day 21

(for Chicken eggs),it's time to.... CANDLE & Tap! Candle and look for an internal pip. Pencil mark the air cell.

Below is what an internal pip it looks like.

The beak is thrust through the inner membrane into the air cell.

Tap with your fingernail GENTLY on the air cell and hold to your ear, Can you hear a peep?

**IF** YOU DO NOT HAVE AN INTERNAL PIP AND YOU CAN’T HEAR CHIRPING and but you do SEE MOVEMENT, place that egg BACK in the incubator and WAIT, this EGG DOES NOT need assisting at this point!

**IF** however YOU DO NOT HAVE AN INTERNAL PIP AND YOU CAN’T HEAR CHIRPING and YOU DO NOT see MOVEMENT please proceed to The Float Test ~ Checking Egg Viability. Give Eggs A Full 24 Hrs Overdue Before Float Testing ONLY AFTER CANDLING and NO Internal pips and NO internal MOVEMENT or CHIRPING! This procedure takes very little equipment Or time to do and Is Easy To Perform. If your egg is still viable, place back in the bator and wait! https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...ng-egg-viability-for-late-or-overdue-hatching Now its time to assist if… Your Beyond THE WAITING PERIOD and you’ve followed ALL steps above! Assist if YOU HAVE AN INTERNAL PIP AND you hear CHIRPING,OR YOU HEAR CHIRPING and No PIP...... AND you clearly understand the hatching process, AND you are CERTAIN its time to intervene, AND you have READ THROUGH this ENTIRE ARTICLE, AND you understand THE STEPS to ASSIST, AND you HAVE PATIENCE, If NOT, DO NOT TOUCH THAT EGG!

Can any one help ?
No they are not stuck if you can see them moving give it a lil more time if you have them hatch at day 18-19 day 23-24 is not uncommon if these chicks are not ready and you start to peel them liked a hard boiled egg you risk nicking a blood vessel and having them bleed to death in your hand are theese large breed birds ? Brahmas Cochins are they to big to turn and pip improper evaporation control during incubation will allow them to grow too big in the shell and they can't turn there is just to much that is unknown about your situation to say go ahead and open them up

. Very very well stated !

are they stuck ? I don't understand how 2 hatched on day 19. They are shipped eggs. What should I do ??
I have heard of others on this site having this issue... I have also heard of chicks hatching up to day 24. Good luck!!! Hopefully they're just late bloomers. Our first hatched about 15 hours before the next one.

Ours are popping like popcorn, 4 chicks out, 2 more pipped! but we ordered silkies, and they have pink skin, and not enough toes to be silkies... I will post pics once they are in the brooder, but I suspect we may have some "sizzles"?! I really have no idea what they all are... I'm still super excited!
