I just set 16 silkie eggs today! Just hatched over a dozen chicks the last few days. Got 2 polish and 2 old English bannies some Cochins and black copper marans.
I have 5 dozen eggs going on lock down tomorrow. Then going to put some more RIR in end of this week. All is going well here. Busy busy busy.
I moved my geese and ducks from the baby pen to the big coop today. Man they grow up so fast.
I also have 4 turkeys in a brooder. They are my first ones to have here on our lil farm. I can't wait till they all get big and fluffy.

You sound like me, but your going turkey and geese. But I make up with guineas. I was thinking going turkeys also but my guineas ducks and chickens keep me busy enough for now. And running just 2 LG still airs and a DIY I made with about 100 egg (Chicken) capacity I am low on space. Bottom tray of DIY holds, tightly 80 guinea eggs. Thats max. And I have 10 rouen eggs stashed next to a shelf in bottom. My LG's I am using for hatchers right now. May have to add another drawer to the DIY.

I candled my WH eggs today. I'm down to 3/6 of the local ones thanks to my STUPID BROODIES for crushing them! UGH I am so disappointed. However the 3 left have fantastic aircells, so here's hoping they make it.

Good news is, I saw development in several of my shipped duck eggs! I'm not going to candle them again until Saturday so that they can do their thing. I also start turning them tomorrow morning. Yippee!

Yesterday was day 10 for me.... I got to build a better candler. Those darker eggs are difficult to see thru. Everything looks good so far. I only have 1 clear egg, out of 16 eggs (1 broke last week due to handler malfunction). There are a couple of ones that are a bit behind, but everyone looks good.

It's only been 10 days.... feels like FOREVER! 21 days feels too long.

Good luck everyone!
