June Hatch a Long

Oh no it will grow let me send you a link so you can see what to watch for.
I am at day 20 and the sacs in the 5 I have left are about what this shows as day 14. Floated them today and they were doing the backstroke so I know they are still alive. I dried them off and put them back under the broody but should I be concerned about them drowning in there. I mean what could be done at this late date to correct it any way? No pips yet either internal or external. Maybe tomorrow at day 21 hopefully.

Sounds like it is doing fine. Its only day 20!!! LOL Dont worry till no chicks at day 23

Bator lockdown tomorrow night. One of our BR hens has layed three eggs. She has been with Colonel our BR roo for several days. Caught him in the act so we may have fertile eggs. Placed them under a broody lady. This will be our first time trying aunaturale. We did her from the previous owner that the broody has hatched chicks before and is a great mom. We placed another BR lady with him yesterday and yes he wasted not time getting busy. So we hope to see if we can get more fertile BR eggs. Our BR hens lay some really big eggs and so we are hoping for some more. Also, Colonel is a gorgeous big boy and would not mind having a duplicate of him. We will see.

This thread is so busy, I can't keep up.
In the 'bator:
6 of 7 Swedish Flower hens, (One was a dud). Due to hatch in 10 -11 days.
1 of 3 Rhode Island Red, heritage. (2 quitters.) Also due to hatch in 10-11 days. (Actually the quitters have not been removed yet.)
2 Columbian Wyandottes, from my hens. The broody hen left them uncovered, so I brought them in, I'm not sure if they are viable or not. They might hatch in 7 - 8 days, but I'm not holding my breath.

I would wait and see what it looks like at 7. I only candle and measure at 7 14 and 18, then I candle everyday till I see an internal pip.
I agree, I think the egg looks like it should. I would keep an eye on it, but I think that is normal blood vessel formation.

I don't think anything can be done at this point.....dropping humidity when they are trying to hatch is a giant no-no.

That doesn't mean you won't get chicks.....try not to stress, and just wait it out. (I know, that is WAY easier to say than do)

ok I just candled my eggs and it is day 4.... out of 39 American game eggs I had to toss 2 .... one for being scrambled and the other one... almost the entire inside was detached... which I have never seen before. only about half of the egg was actually attached to the egg. it looked like a really big detached air cell. has anyone ever seen that before????? anyway... I had to toss those 2 and I had 6 that fertility is questionable but I am gonna leave em just in case cause I noticed some of my eggs were a little more developed than the others as far as veining and such. so now I am down to 37 American game.

I set 27 mixed eggs and a lot of the eggs are brown and most are really porous so I couldn't see anything definite in most of them. I did see a little development in a few tho so I left them all.

well that is my update.... I will let yall know more this weekend

oh yeah... on further note....the air cells in my American game eggs all look about the size they should be.... slightly bigger than day 1 but not as big as day 7 on the chart thingy . these eggs are in a brand new still air LG with auto turner and I put water in there the day I set them but haven't added water since or even so much as opened the bator. looks like this is gonna be a pretty good hatch from what I have seen today but we all know how things go. I am keeping my fingers crossed for these cause I really really really want them.

the mixed eggs are in an older still air LG that I added a pc fan to and I have added water every day I am manually turning these eggs and this bator has no hygrometer so I don't know the humidity in there. the air cells in these eggs are bigger than the ones in the game eggs and they are all different sizes. this hatch is questionable all the way around. don't know what is going to happen here. honestly from the look of things I will be lucky if I get anything out of these eggs.

Nice
Good to know!  And now I all I can think about is staging that picture for my Christmas cards or something...LOL
Yep! Nice to meet another woman drafter!  What kind of work do you do? I do mostly precast concrete - either for new construction or sometimes I have to recreate drawings that are lost for repair projects (old factories, stadiums, etc.).
inventor ?

Hi, It is hatching day for me. When I left the house this morning, two eggs had pipped. When I came home a totally different egg had hatched. I can hear movement in one of the early pipped eggs and it has broken through the membrane. The other one just has a little disturbance of the shell. My issue is the little drunken hatchling is rolling the pipped eggs onto their pipped side and I fear they won't be able to breathe. Also, it has been over 12 hours since it first pipped and nothing more. Should I wait or help?? I noticed one member said he has helped some and they survived and not helped some and they died. I am at a loss and it is getting past my bedtime! The inside of the hatched egg was pretty bloody, but the chick seems ok. This has been a difficult batch. I started with 15 eggs (shipped) and tossed 11 on day 14 for no development. I opened all the eggs and the yolks were all scrambled (except 2). And the PO wants to charge more for handling live animals?! Maybe if they reimburse us for the eggs that get scrambled during shipment!
