June Hatch a Long

I'm a hatching newbie, so I can't answer you question mrsgardian88 , other than my light colored chicks don't have that.

I have a question also, I just woke up and checked my bator. I have 6 chicks running around in there (3 hatched last night, 2 more during the night, & one just now, 3+ pipped) they are pretty rambunctious and rolling eggs around in there. When do I take out the empty shells?

Not to be gross but this is a buff orp I just had hatch and I was wondering if its little butt is supposed to look like this? It looks swollen...and black
I am also a newbie so not sure but could it be poo that is stuck - pasty butt? Maybe once the chick is dry and you remove from incubator you can gently wash it off and put a little olive oil around the vent to try and stop it happening again. I have read that Pasty butt is caused by too high temps.

Okay just found my answer by using different wording in the search. Nope definitely don't open debater until they all hatch.

Adding a picture of the chicks so far. Is it possible to get a blue chick out of only 1 blue wheaten parent?
He/she is closest to the center of the picture .

im fixing to start ducks, what temp and humidity do u do for ur ducks
?
I'm doing 99.5 and dry incubating because the air in the house is about 50% humidity. I like to keep it around 35% and then 75+% for lockdown.

Having your humidity at 70% could possibly drown the ducklings depending on how humid your area is.

It does look swollen. I would give it 24 hours before making an assessment because a lot of things can change! However it either looks bruised or like an infection of the yolk sac to me.
