June Hatch a Long

WHAT?! My duck eggs are due on Saturday and one is already internally pipped!!! I quickly situated them for hatching and bumped up the humidity. Eeeek anyone had ducks hatch early?! These are Welsh Harlequins.

WAIT, a couple of them look like chipmunks!!!! Still having PTS from the chipmunk episode!

I am now on day 5, still a long wait to see if babies hatch. I can't wait, am really looking forward to 27/28 June when the action should start. So far temp has stayed absoutely steady so I am hopeful that all is ok but should be able to see better once I candle on day 7.

Awesome!! So I did the math and I really set them Friday at like...11pm, so it's officially day 24 now. That's not so bad, considering the internal pip was done some time this afternoon.

What breed(s) are you hatching?

Call duck! I set mine the Tuesday after you set yours.

. To small ? Less water at this point you might want to stay dry till the first pip and try to get them to grow a lil might be your best bet you don't have much time are the chicks filling out the shell ?
Dang, that is what makes sense to me.
but I had read something different........ I had been running dry.
Yes on the chicks..theylook well developed.
guess all I can do is be right on top of the internal pip.
thanks

Actually, I have a question for the experienced hatchers...what extra steps do I have to take for an egg that has a detached air cell?
