June Hatch-A-Long

Good deal I guess.

I candled the eggs a couple of nights ago and all of them were showing veining. That was on day 5. Today is day 8 so I'm going to check tonight and see how they are doing. But so far so good. Even though some of them are rather porous

We candled last night, day 14. All 24 are still viable! Getting excited as we get closer to lockdown! And now 2 of my girls have gone broody!!! One is on 8 eggs and the other is on three golf balls. But she's getting a few eggs this week. Chicken math is a killer!!!

I have finished most of my hatching for the year, but will be putting just 4 more EEs under my broody bantam for June. It's not to get more chicks - testing to see if she's a good mother

Checked my eggs due on the 7th. The most important to me are the very limited WLH and RIR. Those are developing so rest is cake (Or whatever you like.) Ducks due on the 1st also doing great.

Will set what I get from my breeding pens Friday so will have another setting due the 20th. Gotta love when wife enables me to hatch birds. My 1st real project for this year, my meat birds, are doing great so I am hoping for a dz. or 2 to set with BSL and 3/4 BA 1/4 WLH. Future projects are in the thought process right now.

Woohoo! I have 30 eggs in my bator due to hatch on the 11th. I have candled a few of them today(day 5) without touching them or removing them from the turner. So far I have 1 Tolbunt Polish, 1 Japanese Black Tail bantam, and 2 Trader Joe's fertile eggs developing. I didn't candle a dozen of them because they're dark eggs and I didn't want to leave the bator open too long. I can't wait to see what I have on day 7 when I candle all of them!

I'm at day 16. I have some that are clear so I will remove those at day 18. I'm getting excited to see if anything will hatch. We lost power about 10 days ago. I'm hoping it didn't affect them. The temp was 92 degrees when I came home & that was an hour after hubby started the generator.
