June Hatch-A-Long

I put my eggs into lockdown last night. There are no BBS Marans left. I have 9 guinea eggs remaining and one lonely little SBEL egg. I guess after the incubator went bottom side up that is not terrible, but it hardly is worth the work for 10 eggs. :/

Sorry for your egg loss. 10 eggs is better then losing the entire bunch. I am still waiting for my eggs to pip. I am half happy that they are taking their time because last time I had one with an un absorbed yolk sak. So. Perhaps I will have a good turn out

So it's day 20 and still no chicks... I am really getting worried and depressed. I really thought they were fertile. I would like to scream. I don't even have any pips.

We will be day 20 this afternoon and nothing yet either. I'm anxious too. I had movement when candled on day 14 and when I candled on 18 to go into lockdown they looked full with just an air sack.

I'm just hoping at least a couple hatch. My kiddos are so excited for them.

I feel like the saying should be, a watched egg never hatches. . I did hear some chirping but there are no pips... So does that mean one has internally pipped. How long do they have after that to hatch?

Can u tell it's our first hatch?

if you heard cheeps that it should be the same day, but you never know. Chicks are on their own schedule. lol.
I thought i saw some eggs rolling in my incubator but i could just be seeing things... lol.

i was in your shoes in 2012 when i did my first incubation. I rented an incubator from the farm. after that I bought my own incubator off amazon. lol. So now i'm still playing the waiting game. Sometimes when i go check on it, i make chicken noises so perhaps that will say to them it's time to hatch. lol.

You aren't on day 21 yet.

It's hard to wait..I know! Maybe by tonight, you will get some pips.

Yep. And internal pip has happened, and the chick is getting those lungs acclimated. Won't be long until you get the external pip. Good luck everyone!

You guys!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a forming, swimming, hearbeating chick in one of my eggs!!!!!!!! I candled it today (day 6) and there it was! It is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! I am over the moon excited! I have 2 other eggs that have pulsing veins but didn't see an obvious embryo when I took a quick peek and was too nervous to do it for very long. Oh goodness, I am just so happy! :-D

I would feel the SAME exact way! I cannot wait to be "there" in a few days!
