I'm feeling pretty anxious about my upcoming hatch. I get nearly perfect hatches every time with my brinsea. Except the one time I had one egg not hatch every single egg that makes it to lock down equals a chick in the . But this time I have 22 mixed eggs that have incubated in an old food dehydrator, 10 of those having been shipped... so I don't know how it will go. I'm still going to hatch them in my brinsea, just because I have set other eggs in the dehydrator so can't really up the humidity and end up hurting the other eggs..
Anyway after the 22 mixed eggs, then I have 2 more shipped mixed eggs that go into lock down the day the first batch hatch... 2 out of 18 have made it so far. To a lock down of the 25th...so that's awful odds... none of the eggs arrived broken, but they were surely shaken up beyond all reason. Anyway I set another 20 of our own eggs today..and then I'm done hatching. Well the 23rd I'll be setting my first quail eggs. 2 dozen of those, but after that I'm done. Unless my chick numbers get super low. I've sold the equivalent of my first hatch of this year. I hatched 13 chicks and I've sold 14 so far. I still have 5 out of the first batch. 3 roos and 2 hens I think. 2 of the roos we are keeping so not too big a deal. Mike and Paco. The kids get upset that we will eat excess roosters so I allow them to pick one chicken to be immune to becoming . So aidan picked a white sex link named mike and lilly picked a really near looking black copper marans/something/salmon faverolle mix. He's gray and red... I'll take some pics at some point, but jeez would you look at my rambling...oh well. When I'm nervous I . And I'm get to g pretty nervous about this coming hatch. But I'm going to stop right here....
