Adorable! I want a broody hen, so cute how they're all motherly.
cute my lacerated behind...I had to catch her before she tried to take them back to the woods. Lol. She's a tiny chicken but fierce.

In other news 2 of my shipped eggs are pipped... so won't be too much longer and I'll have some more chicks... chicks chicks chicks everywhere.

I have movement, one of my eggs is rocking, and due to a temperature increase in my home today, and the fact that I am the thermostat on my homemade incubator I had to turn out the light in the incubator for a bit this afternoon, and let some heat out (hit 105), so I held a flashlight to the air pockets and saw one moving about in there, internally pipped.

My incubator is not sealed, house humidity is 46% and I've got a bowl of water in with the eggs, I'm getting anxious

Here's my babies (they're scared of the washing machine spin cycle so they're bunched up). Does anyone know if the chicks and quail can live together? Or for how long?
Awee what cute babies!

I've heard from this forum not to have them together, even on the same property. However, I know a LOT of local farms that have both quail AND chickens. *shrug*

Looks like I have a late quitter. I think they quit around day 15. :( But the other 6 chicks have gotten HUGE -- and I see a nice air pocket, now. So hopefully I'll have six babies come Friday! (And no more losses!)
