Agreed that the White appears male and the Brown female. And yes, Chinese are absolutely the loudest breed I've ever owned. Which is why I have American Buffs now. They are much quieter.

View attachment 2010461ok folks gooseluvergirl got gifted these 2 today. We have been getting 2 goose size eggs every other day so we think her original 2 are female. Does it look like maybe these 2 are male?
thank you I kindof thought that but ???This is a 100% a pair, male(white) and female (brown).
The Brown Chinese has a typical female look for the breed (brown variety).
The White guy is a gander. Body structure, height, head and knob/beak size are the indicators
Nice pair![]()
Chinese are the undisputed loudest breed of geese. Brown Chinese and Brown Africans can be hard to tell the difference, especially with hatchery stock. Chinese are slimmer built, longer necked, and have larger knobs than Africans.
African geese also have a dewlap. Don't they?
The Chinese geese specially the females make great flock gaurdians, perhaps because they are loud and alert. I think they are also the most prolific geese.
I want to know that is it possible to breed the Chinese geese with the embden geese? Because Chinese geese are derived from the swan geese and the embdens are derived from greylag geese.
