Just a general question...

How old is do you let them free range...also If you have a huge rooster ..to consider them safe around him

Most people don't let them free range until closer to 12 or 16 weeks for many factors, easy prey for hawks, vultures, fox, cats, dogs etc and I would not let them near an adult of any gender until they are the same size of the adults. But that's me, I've tried it sooner and lost the babies. Grown ups can be MEAN!

I have an 8 ft x 20 ft run that they are in.... I do have a cockerel (he is only 7 weeks old tho and I cant keep him- He will be going to live on a farm right up the road from me)

can anyone tell me what the best age is to clip wing feathers
boy these young ones 4 wks can sure take flight they fly into the cage wire afraid they may hurt getting stuck in fence. also don't want to put them out as they are flight risks
to young to run off till they can fend for themselves . been told it;s also easier to get them trained to listen to your calls, they already know chow time.

I do let my birds free range in our pasture but there isn't much shade and they like to be in the shade so they spend most of the time in their pens under their shade trees and shade/rain tables. When they are out and see me with the treat bucket, they come running for treats and will go right in for them.

Yeah, I am in the process of i troducing the babies to the hens. The babies spend the day in an extra large wire dog crate right outside the run where the adults and babies can see each other. The babies are only 1/2 the adult's size so it will be awhile before any interaction happens for the exact reason you posted
