The run is 8X12 with the outside part of the coop being 4X3 and the inside being 3X3. It houses our 7 Girls

13 ft per bird isnt that bad, it looks smaller in the picture because of the trees

You will probably need to either expand your housing or roof your run before winter. I thought St. Louis got snow??? If your run gets snow in it, your chickens will most likely not want to go out into the snow, and 9 sq. ft is not enough space for 7 chickens. Now if you find a way to cover your run safely (don't just tarp if you get snow, the snow load will be too much), they should be fine, as your run is decently sized.

We do get snow here and I already have the roof panels and some side wall pieces to cover the run in the winter time

Nice looking set up! I'm still working on mine but it's a very similar set up, off my shed.
