Just a long, funny story.

Oh my gosh!! How funny! I thought it was just us. Not only do I and my DH take bugs to the girls but my nephew and in-laws do it now when they visit. GREAT story!!! Love the visual of the rooster chasing you down and popping up now and then to get a lock on your location..

I gotta tell ya...that was one smart rooster. He got to where he was following me, every where I went, just in case I grabbed a grasshopper. He was going to be first in line.

There was a small wash, along side the yard and sometimes, I'd go in that direction. This one day, I jumped over the water and started up the hill but the rooster didn't follow.

Instead, he started screeching and making all sorts of weird, loud noises and running back and forth. From where I stood, I couldn't see what he was looking at. He kept running off to my left and peering at something just out of my sight, then run back to where I had crossed the wash. I couldn't figure out what had gotten into him so I walked back down the hill and across the wash, where I could get a better look.

There against the bank of the wash was a raccoon. Evidently, wounded and he was struggling. My heart went out to him, but it was probably him that got my guinea, a couple nights before. I got the shot gun, I had borrowed from a friend, aimed, closed my eyes and pulled the trigger. Somehow, I hit the target.

I looked down at Mr. Boss and said, "I got Guinea's for what?" Mouth open moment. So now I was bringing grasshoppers to Mr.Boss. Wow....he was a worthy fella. blink blink

Guys. That was a White Rock, I'm talking about.
