Just a quick question !

I have a rooster and a hen moulting at the minute. Is it ok to wash them ???
Some of their body is bare with no feathers.
I am thinking of bathing them with some poultry shampoo and warm water ?

Why? Generally their new pin/blood feathers are very sensitive, and they don't like being handled.

Bathe chickens? I’ve never heard of this. They dust bathe themselves. They’re not meant to be washed unless there is something wrong with them and they need to be soaked in epsom salt.

They are show hens for exhibitions and I am trying to keep their feathers clean. I don’t let them dust bathe because it dirties their feathers

Be more specific because not too many do shows and you want people who do them to answer.

It depends. Are these the last chickens you have to show? Many people don’t bring birds if they are molting because they don’t do well.
Unless you don’t have any other birds to show, I would consider not bringing them.
When is the show?
