Long story short.. can turkeys coexist with a typical 10-12 chicken flock?

Long story, if time permits.. :) .. my neighbor who is veterinarian and runs her horse boarding property (establishing credential :) ) also volunteers at the Santa Rosa Plateau Wildlife refuge here... in "hectic" Southern California...

She asked me if I could take care of those "poults" for the coming months. They're maybe 3 months old but already pretty beefy leg wise and beak capacity wise. I have them in a divider (5'x5', I'm not a monster) with plenty of feed.

What's your guy's take on just letting them "coexist" in the yard? I have about 2 acres of free ranging space.

Thank you!

Hello! Little different situation: I had four turkeys with about 130 chickens and they never had any problems. They all are pretty clique-ey, even chickens by themselves. Turkeys roosted outside the coop and chickens inside.

They're truly wild... but grew up at the refuge since they were about 2 weeks old.

So far so good today, they seem pretty relax today, much less jumpy than my other pullets. They hung out with my 3 three month old Brahma mix pullets, seem to get along well actually.

my 8 adults lurked around, kinda curious but no fuss at all.

They're just darn ugly already thought :)

I'll post some pics tomorrow.
