Just amputated a chicken leg

Pics
Stitches went in on Thursday 9/23/2021 and you want to take them out 5 days later?
You sure?
I'm going to take out one stitch and see if it's closed. If it's not I'll leave it but I've read chickens tend to heal faster than cats or dogs. The stitches are just regular sewing thread so I don't want to leave them in too long.

I didn't have someone to hold him to get a picture today but the wound is looking good. I took out a few stitches but it was hard getting him to hold still so I stopped. His poop today is really runny.

Any ideas on what might be causing it to look like that?

Is he doing alright?
How's the little one?
He's doing great! I haven't been updating because some of my younger chicks are sick and I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with them. I got the rest of the stitches out and the feathers are starting to grow back. I've been putting him outside with the other chicks and bringing him inside at night and he seems to get along with them. He's near the top of the pecking order and he's getting around a lot better. I'll post some pictures in a bit.
