Just amputated a chicken leg

So here's a picture of a chicken leg (obviously lol). The red line is about where I made the incision and the blue is where I crushed the bone. I pulled out the pieces and used paper towels to apply pressure. The bleeding stopped fairly quickly (about 5 minutes) and there was plenty of skin to stitch it together. Let me know if you need more details or pictures!

I used some slip joint pliers that I soaked in 70% isopropyl alcohol to sterilize.
