This is my 8 week old silkie, Oreo. I know silkies are hard to sex but the mulberry coloring on the wattles is making me think cockerel. Any opinions?

That's a boy most of our guesses with silkies have been right

I've done a dna gender test but with the postal service as it is lately who knows when the results will get to the facility

You may be right about the wattles, but I feel it is too early for definitive gender ID.

I have DNA tested many of my birds. Usually a 10-14 day turnaround time, depending on company.

Just got the dna results back! Oreo is a male! Now I have a gray silkie rooster, buff silkie rooster, and a black silkie rooster. Lol. I just have to decide which one to keep (I'm not going to have enough hens for that many roosters unfortunately)
