I got 2 eggs the first day of laying...the bigger one was cracked so I threw it away. I fried it, over easy...."dippy eggs" in my house. It was small. I have a pic! I saved the shell for what, I don't know.
Even though it was a hot summer day, I fried it up, and had it on toast with DBF and our chef friend.
We were all blown away by the rich and creamy flavor!
Hooray for fresh eggs! Nothing is more exciting than that first egg!
Those little-r banty eggs are just right for "moon over miami" or "egg in a hole"; fry the egg in a hole punched out of a piece of bread, then flip it over to toast the other side, too; toasty egg all in one!
I fried it up - but I have to repeat a question someone else posed - mine tasted minerally, and the white was watery. Is this normal? Perhaps they froze? I've had farm eggs before (I'm an avid locavore.. duh...) and my eggs tasted odd..
We got three eggs the first day, and saved a few more up before having them basted. Our son isn't really into eggs in the first place, and once he found out for certain exactly where they came from
, well. . . lets just say there were plenty of eggs for DH and I.
