I know there is a lot of fear about eating raw eggs from the grocery store because of salmonella and other bacterial contamination, so I was just wondering who eats raw eggs from their personal chickens (in cookie dough/cake batter if nothing else)? They should theoretically be safer because we can observe the individuals the eggs came from, correct?

What does anyone else think about it?

Yep, only if they're eggs from my own birds. Even then, I don't do it much.

Hehe, preferably from own birds......but.......if there is cookie dough....LEMME AT IT!

Mwahahahaha! The WHOLE bowl of cookie dough is MINE! Nothing goodier than that! Besides chocolate cake batter!

I eat cookie dough, cake dough, drink egg nog; I have my own eggs but I wouldn't worry about store eggs much either. I grew up eating "crud" of various sort from various sources, and I believe I have a pretty good immune system. A well exercised immune system is key. Give it something to do on a regular basis, or it will find something to do that may not be too agreeable; just like kids.

Yes, blended into my breakfast green smoothie. Greens, 2 raw eggs, raw milk kefir, and some fruit. YUM!

I haven't had cake batter or cookie dough in a long time, but I love it.
