Just curious who else is living super frugal

@Amberjem

I run around barefoot all the time...  even up at the house in the desert.  very few stickers...  Of course you never put any digit someplace you cant see before hand.  Shoes gloves get whacked  even if they have been inside in the closet.

Outside it goes without saying.  I use a walking stick to flip over wood before picking it up...  Or whack the wood hard to see if it sirs up a rattle snake.  During the spring is when the babies are out...  they don't have a rattle and they don't have the control over their venom delivery so they deliver it all.  Most dangerous of em all.

Mornings and evenings are the worst times for snakes....  Thats when they hunt.  During the hot part of the day they just lay low....  Under wood or shrubs or near water...

Scorpions like I said they are just like a big ant bite... unless you are allergic.  We don't have the really poisonous ones here.

majorly phobic of wild snakes majorly.....bad childhood experience... ~shudders~.. super glad there arent any poisonous snakes here in my area...too many spiders though...

We lived in a house on a farm at one point that had a concrete stoop out the door to the south. At night the rattlesnakes would crawl up on the stoop to warm up and we had to sweep them off in the mornings to be able to go out to the barns. I was terrified, but they never bothered us or our animals and we never had mice or prairie dogs tearing up the pasture.

Yes @hennible , I am cross posting

So about being frugal....I bought some mistinted paint and transformed my laundry room that was stuck in the 1980s to a nice updated look.
The paint was nearly $40 a gallon. I paid $5 per gallon each x2.

Great deal on the sale and your room looks great!

Quote: You have my mind working out a possible plan. Those trays do break down. Maybe better quality rubber ones might work. THank you.

I had an experience with a milk snake biting me-- it was totally deserved as I was about 6-7 and tackled it to be sure I caught it. Poor thing needed to protect itself. I have been very leary of small snakes ever since. (I'm totally ok with a 6 foot python.) When my son , about 3-4 at the time, pulled a garter snake thru a chain link fence then proudly showed me his catch, I could only focus on the writhing thing getting ready to strike him. He wouldn't drop it and I wasn't reaching my hand near that snake to help him. I knew this snake could only inflict a minor bite. My son would not handle a snake for two years after that. He did recover though and now wears gloves and places them in a large bucket. lol He is in a happy place with snakes. I still peer into the buckets forcing out positive comments. I let the snakes live here in peace--- as a snake crossed our path, a vet once asked if "he" was a pet.

No, he just lives here.

I'll take the snow over poisonous snakes and insects. lol

Used a yellow primer I already had. Couldn't find the paint can opener and didn't want to waste gas to get another one, so started looking at what I already had. Most knives are useless-- they bend too easily. THen discovered the can opener that has an old fashioned bottle opener at the opposite end. Worked beautifully. Waiting for the drawer to dry-- it's by the wood stove. Soooo excited to get the flat ware OFF the table.

Drawer received, first coat of final coat : red coral. SO pretty. Then a second and a third. IT is a flatware drawer afterall and doomed to rough handling. lol Have set it aside to cure for a week. Cant wait to get it in use!! I've hated the basket to contain everything. Really I hated picking out a fork, spoon or knife by the working end. Ewwww. I really prefer to keep that clean!!!!

Pulled out the shovels to deal with the blizzard snow. Most of my shovels come form the trash. Everyone around here likes a new perfect shovel, which is good for me!! I keep my eye on the "trash" on trash day!

Been below 30 the last few days. Snow is up to the knees of every horse. ANd me too ! lol Finally got smart when my heans were not drying in 12 hrs when I needed them again. Pulled out a white trash bag from my reused supply-- cut into two sections and wrapped around my calf. ANd tied with old shoe strings from tossed sneakers kept in the utility draw. LEgs were MUCH dryier and MUCH warmer!!

1100feet cleared via snow blower. ANd car now parked at the bottom of the drive!!
