Just curious? Who names all their chickens and who doesn't?

I don't name them unless they're staying, so all my layers and breeders have names but the chicks have numbers.
I won't bore you all with a list of 25 names!

Every now and then, I have to write out the list, otherwise I'd have no idea how many I have.

Our rooster is Stew and the hens are The Stewlettes. I guess it's sexist, but although I can tell all the hens apart, I don't usually have a reason to call one by name. Stew, on the other hand, needs to be singled out, for instance, "Do you know what that #@$%#@ Stew just did to my leg?"

Now we have 10 chicks. Some will be chicken dinners by fall; I don't want to get too attached. Some will be layers and will join the Stewlettes. Will there be a replacement rooster to take over from Stew? Possibly. Maybe I'll call them Stew2 and the Replacement Hens.

I admit to naming all of mine.

We have 9 chickies total.. and all of them are so different.

Mom has been a little slacko in the naming department with some of hers from the newer bunch... but if she doesent kick in soon, I'm going to name them for her

My three white silkies have been named since they hatched.. I didn't mind having a roo with a girly name

Then I've named 4 of those of the new chickie batch... even some of moms.. she only has two names left to choose!

I'm not giving out our chickie names to prevent evil copyright infringement! I know how some of you sneaky BYC'ers are!!

We have a few with names, though very few. I have too many chickens to name. They do all respond to, "Here chick chick chick!" Really smart chickens I have, don't ya think?

I don't think I could remember that many names anyway.

Shoot, I have to look at my drivers license to remember my own name some times.

As my flock grows and grows, I no longer become attached to my chickens, honestly. Once they're settled in I guess I just give them a leg band and name them by their numbers.

Mine are all named technically, although some of them have really half-you know what names. I have Henrietta, who was my neighbors RIR that I adopted, and she came with that name, Millie, a bantam Mille Fleur D'Uccle; name obvious, Ducky, who is a black cochin, but she was yellow and black as a chick and looked just like a little duckling, Rachel, who is a Silkie that I let the coop carpenter's kid name, Sunny or Sunshine, a very yellow Silkie, Henny Penny, who gets called either Henny or Penny, depending on which I blurt out first, and then the remaining two are Blackie & Gray, which are totally lame names intended to be temporary until I thought up better names, which I never did.
