Just curious

I was wondering since colors are sort of similar & just for fun to see.
What do you think a Porcelin D'Uccle and a self blue Cochin might produce, would the spots come thru??Again just curious. My WCB Polish roo got to my MF D'Uccle hen and the result looks exactly like a Crevecour.

No The mottling ( spots ) in the porcelain dUccle is recessive so all of the f1 offspring would be solid lavender ( self blue) and could carry only one copy of the mottling gene. If you bred those offspring together or back to the dUccle, then you would start getting more mottled chicks in varing percentages depending on if you did a sibling or a back cross.

Lavender Gene (lav) --

"This is a simple recessive gene that dilutes black to a pale gray ("lavender") and red to a buff or cream.
It can operate on any base pattern, changing black birds to self lavenders, as seen in the lavender Araucanas; and on the spotted
milleflur pattern to produce the pretty and popular Porcelain (Barbu) d'Uccles bantams."
Quote above from David Scrivener's book Exhibition Poultry Keeping.

"The milleflur pattern is diluted by the lavender gene. It is quite normal to cross these two color varieties of d'Uccles."
Quote above from Divid Scrivener's book Exhibition Poultry Keeping.

From the self blu Cochin and a BLR Wyandotte I got 1kinda black laced blue pullet and 1 darker sorta splashy cockrel. Curious what brought out the black there?? The pullet has better "lacing" than the cockrel and both have a Wyandotte body type. I had a WCB Polish(rip) roo get a hold of my MF D'Uccle hen and they produce a pullet that looks just like a Crevecour! My blk.Silkie & a buff Brahma roo made a buff 5 toed Brahma with a lil head poof on top. Lastly a Sumatra roo with an Americana produced a Sumatra like pullet. It seems the black color and the roosters were dominant not the hens. I wonder if the Suma pulley will lay blue eggs like her hen does?
I don't know what I would pair these girls and guy with if anything just for fun to see what we get. Any suggestions? I can take pics if anyone cares to see them. Chicken mixing can be interesting to say the least, espeacially when they do it without telling you.
