Well, I'm happy to say I have 5 healthy Heritage turkeys that hatched on the 2nd. I was at work of course and came home to find them! They are doing well and are drinking water and eating, who said that turkeys were dumb?............ Dad is a pencil palm and I have for hens, Narragansett ( sits on my lap whenever she can) royal palm, sweet grass and a fall fire! Very interested to see what colors they're going to be!

Well, looks like most of in this group ended up with at least a couple successes. Basteph, I just checked in once again to your livestream to see if there was any progress with your remaining 6 eggs. Guess you're just getting the one - lucky little guy! I didn't do much better. Out of 16 starters, all of my bantam eggs quit early, looks like within the first week, and I ended up with just 2 going the distance. Cute little buff orp/buff brahma bantam mixes with fuzzy feet. Love them! But, it was my first attempt at incubating and I kept meticulous notes and was very careful about the temp & humidity. So, now that I am addicted to the process, I have 6+ bantam black mottled cochin eggs enroute from an eBay sale. We'll give it another try.

had 4 out of 6 pip...1 hatched too fast and bled out of his cord and didn't make it. 1 got shrink wrapped and the 2 that made it wouldn't have if I didnt help them out...Better luck next time!

Glad to see that you have some chickies ShortCircuit. I just cracked open the rest of my eggs. I found 3 that were at full term and did not hatch, the other 9 were duds.

Congrats to all on your new baby chicks!

And I have 10+ BBS blue ameraucana eggs coming, so they'll go in the incubator with the cochins. Guess the whole process will be starting again next week. Then, I SWEAR, I'll be done with incubating! No! Really!

Of course, I may (I say "may") have been looking into a couple heritage turkeys...
